Cancelling My Account

Promotional Accounts (Free Trial)

There is no need to cancel a free trial promotional accounts. After the free trial period expires, your account will automatically downgrade to a Lite account. The Lite account is free and you will not incur any charges. If you would like to remove your email address, please refer to the following article "Can you take me off of your mailing list?".

Paid Subscriptions

Paid subscribers may cancel their YouSendIt subscription at any time. For your security and verification purposes, YouSendIt requires that users cancel their own accounts.

To Cancel your Paid Subscription:

  1. Log in to your YouSendIt account.
  2. Go to My Account > Account Details.
  3. Click on the Click here to cancel your account button. A pop up will show, Are you sure you want to cancel your account?
  4. Click OK. The next screen displays a Special Offer.
  5. Click on No Thanks to decline the offer. A Feedback for YouSendIt form appears.
  6. From the drop-down menu, select your reason for cancellation. In the text box, please provide any additional feedback to help us improve.
  7. Click Submit. You will be directed to the Account Information page, which indicates that your account is pending downgrade, as well as the actual cancellation date (see Important Notes below for more details).
  8. You will receive a confirmation email with the cancellation number.
Important Notes:
  • If you do not see a Cancel button on your Account Details page, this means one of the following:
    1. Promotional Account: You are currently using a promotional account. As described above, your account will be automatically be downgraded to a Lite account after the promotional period.
    2. Subuser Account: You are currently using a Corporate Suite or Business Plus subuser account. You must contact your account administrator and request to be removed from the group. For further details, see the article: What happens when a Corporate Suite or Business Plus administrator removes a subuser account?
  • After you submit an account cancellation request, your subscription will remain active for the remainder of the pre-paid subscription period (month or year). You will have full access to all account features until the effective cancellation date. At that time, your account will revert to a free Lite account and you will not be billed any further. We cannot refund fees for any unused portion of the pre-paid term.
    1. Monthly subscription example: if your recurring billing date is the 15th of each month and you request cancellation on July 20, your effective cancellation date will be the 15th of the following month, or August 15.
    2. Yearly subscription example: if your recurring billing date is July 15 and your request cancellation on December 15, your effective cancellation date will be July 15 of the following year.
  • All files in your account will maintain their existing file expiration setting, except for files set to Never Expires - any such files will have their expiration set to 7 days (the standard expiration setting for Lite accounts) from the cancellation date.
  • If you are a Corporate Suite or Business Plus administrator and request cancellation, please note that this will also affect all of your subusers. For further details, please see the article: What happens if my Corporate Suite Administrator account is cancelled?
